Feed Handlers & Ticker Plants: Exchange Data

Exchange Data & the IT Exchange Server

Direct access to exchange data eliminates vendor latency, increases integrity, and reduces cost dramatically. The result is decreased risk and higher operational efficiency. Developing interfaces to these direct feeds internally may take years. With InfoDyne, this technology is just a phone call away. Our servers will easily integrate with your legacy systems, meaning your new market data platform can be fully deployed within weeks.

InfoDyne’s data servers offer direct access to a growing number of global exchanges (see Supported Feeds (Full Listing) for a complete list of all feeds supported). Each feed handler, or IT Exchange Server, is capable of delivering exchange data via InfoDyne’s Middleware² as well as other middleware products, including Reuters Triarch®/TIB®/RMDS®, Tibco’s RV®, and SmartSockets®. Therefore, no matter how you choose to distribute direct exchange data internally, we have the interface.

Most trading firms rely on market data from third-party vendors. The data is collected from exchanges, consolidated, filtered, and finally distributed through dated infrastructures to your location — a time consuming and volatile process. InfoDyne clients gain the competitive edge by using the InfoDyne suite of exchange servers that go directly to the source saving time and money. InfoDyne’s Ticker Plant System, TPS+Plus, receives and consolidates market data directly from the exchanges at the customer’s location. The information takes no more than 2 hops through InfoDyne’s Enterprise Middleware² and is presented to the customer’s applications with virtually zero latency. There is no loss of consolidation, redundancy, fail-over, integrity, or value. At “peak” times during the day (e.g. market open), InfoDyne’s TPS+Plus platform has been shown to be as much as 8 seconds faster than the leading consolidated vendor. Given the increased traffic since decimalization and the elimination of quote mitigation, how long will it be until today’s peak traffic rate is tomorrow’s average traffic rate?

Each InfoDyne IT Exchange Server supports redundancy, fault detection and recovery. InfoDyne’s exchange servers normalize the incoming data to provide a consistent object interface, full capacity and guaranteed data integrity. Furthermore, the servers are configurable to allow for the introduction of value-added data and may be coupled with our trade/order routing servers to provide the fastest means of auto-quoting and trade execution.

Like all InfoDyne products, the InfoDyne Exchange Servers are available for use in a variety of operating systems, including: Sun Solaris, Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP and Linux.  Each incorporates the InfoDyne administrative agent, allowing any server to be configured and managed from a central administrative desktop application. InfoDyne’s servers also utilize SNMP communications allowing them to be managed by the same standard network management tools that organizations typically already use. Finally, InfoDyne’s Entitlement System allows you to control user access and provide usage statistics to the exchanges.
