SAVVIS and InfoDyne Launch Joint Ticker Plant and Direct Exchange Feed Delivery Solution
HERNDON, VA, -- April 29, 2003 – SAVVIS Communications (NASDAQ: SVVS), a global managed IP and managed hosting services provider, and InfoDyne Corporation, a leading supplier of market data and transaction technology to the financial community, today announced a global strategic alliance to deliver seamless integration with direct exchange market data and transaction feeds to financial firms.
SAVVIS and InfoDyne now offer this package of network and software services to financial firms seeking to achieve faster access to key market data, greater data reliability and lower market data costs. The new service will be featured at the SAVVIS booth (#2101) during the Securities Industry Association's (SIA) Technology Management Conference and Exhibit on June 17-19 at the New York Hilton.
Currently, most broker-dealers and large asset managers receive market quotes and other real-time data through consolidated feeds from traditional market data vendors.
"When quotes are routed through a consolidator's data center, it can substantially slow distribution and can introduce data integrity problems," said Guy Tagliavia, President of InfoDyne. "While the average delay of one-half second may seem small to many, this is a major problem for firms that rely on mission critical auto-quoting or program trading models."
Tagliavia added that at peak times, such as at market open, market data delays can stretch to as much as eight seconds. "Reducing costs by eliminating vendor fees and increasing reliability by simplifying the routing are key. We have also designed our ticker plant products to meet a wide range of needs. For example, some firms may want to supplement direct feeds with a consolidator's fundamental data and quotes from secondary global exchanges. Our technology easily supports this hybrid approach."
As part of this strategic alliance, SAVVIS, which is already a leading provider of direct exchange feeds from key stock, options and derivatives exchanges, will market and support InfoDyne ticker plant products globally. These products offer customers seamless integration of direct exchange feeds into their trading and development environments by directly interfacing with the most popular market data integration platforms, such as InfoDyne's own Middleware2, TIBCO/RV™ and Triarch™/RMDS™.
In addition, InfoDyne's products will allow for the launch later this year of a jointly managed service that will offer financial firms the benefits of accessing direct feeds from multiple exchanges through a single SAVVIS connection, at an affordable cost, and with no need to install and maintain a complete ticker plant solution at their site.
"SAVVIS is in the business of delivering innovative financial technology solutions that help our financial customers use market data more efficiently, trade better and faster, and realize enhanced post-trade capabilities," said Terence Donnelly, Vice President for Business Development at SAVVIS. "We see strong demand by our sell side and buy side customers for a complete solution that unleashes the power of direct exchange feeds in a TIB or Triarch environment. This alliance with InfoDyne allows us to offer an end-to-end solution to meet this demand."
"The InfoDyne–SAVVIS relationship exemplifies how leading market data and transaction technology providers can leverage the power and quality of SAVVIS' real-time managed network to deliver high-performance, cost-effective services to financial firms," said Jack Finlayson, president and chief operating officer of SAVVIS. "We're pleased to provide these services that support InfoDyne's business strategy and can scale to support future growth."
