IT Object Distributor (ITOD) Gateway Server
The ITOD supports Enterprise Gateway functionality, allowing it to integrate within Triarch, TIB, RMDS and Middleware2 environments simultaneously. As such, the ITOD reflects services, manages request/response traffic and routes cross-data traffic between these enterprises in real time. This is beneficial in some customer scenarios where one or more legacy systems exist and serves as an integration component between old and new enterprise environments. This is also useful for serving as an on-site customer integration component within customer's existing systems, and extends shared or dedicated "Managed Services" from a common managed service facility. In addition, it allows for communication through firewalls, bridging disperse enterprise middleware systems and scaling/partitioning extremely large system deployments.
An adapter-type connection within an ITOD can be configured to reflect services bi-directionally between the ITOD itself and another middleware environment. Adapter-type connections are available for the same adapter interfaces supported by the ITCL which include Middleware2, Triarch, TIB and RMDS. A single ITOD can have many adapter-type connections and they can be mixed and matched as necessary.
